Rausu Ojiro Festival Program
Walk through this glistening white UNESCO World Heritage Site!
Walk Route 334, Japan's shortest expressway, while it's closed for the winter (it's closed from early November to late April) with walls of snow as a backdrop!
As you walk through the high walls of snow made by the road being cleared for re-opening, if it's a clear day you can see Kunashiri Island right before your eyes!
Advice
The Rausu Course is a bit different this year! It's been extended from 6km to 10km, great for those who like a longer walk!
Walkers only! There are plenty of cruises, guided tours, souvenir shops, restaurants and accommodation for you to enjoy!

Massive "Goemon Bath" horsehair crab hotpot - Shiretoko Festival Video
Advice
Enjoy delicious seafood from Rausu, the Fish Castle Town - there's a seafood market and a massive crab hotpot made in a giant pot resembling the Goemon Bath!
You're guaranteed 100% satisfaction!
(Actually, they used to put their nets in those massive pots because in those days fishing equipment and nets weren't made from long-lasting materials and would otherwise rot.)
